WCIA Historical Walking Tour: Nadine Waters

Join us during Wyoming’s Juneteenth Celebration for our inaugural historical walking touring starring Wyoming classical soprano Nadine Waters (1892-1985). Nadine sang in the great concert halls of Europe, studied in Boston, and fought racial discrimination every step of the way. Learn about her father, Martin Van Roberts, her mother and sisters, and the Maple Street church they loved. This is a story of passion, persistence, grit and community, unique to Wyoming.
The 1-hour historical walking tour will leave Wyoming’s Village Green at 5:00 pm and at 6:45 pm on Friday, June 13th, during the Juneteenth Celebration. The tour will take participants on a short walk visiting key sites from Nadine’s Wyoming experience. The walk is less than one mile. Tour groups will be limited to 20 people to promote the best experience for all participants. RSVP here.
